AUDIT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Nicho Produce is a small packinghouse located at 925 N 10th Ave, Edinburg, TX 78541. The site is a 35,000 sq ft, in 119 cold storage rooms that were audited. There are approximately
70 workers year-round working on-site in two shifts. Cold rooms 14-19 rooms are not part of this audit. There is no water used on the product. Most product is received and shipped in
the same container, no packing / repacking is done, and a limited number of products are repacked/packed out into smaller packing size for smaller consumers of the product, which is
just transferred from one container to a smaller container, no wash step and no contact with anything other than the packaging. The repack area consists of two stainless steel tables to
put product containers on for the transfer of product from one container to another. Products that were not observed undergo the same as all of the products that were observed, there is
no wash step, the same workers handling all products, and the same methods of reduction in size if necessary. Allergens are handled as cross-dock (no handling other than making
smaller batches of the product); allergens like egg, milk, peanuts, and tree nuts are handled. HACCP plan is implemented, but 0 CCPs were identified. All conventional products.
